Biography:

W. Robert Kohorst is the founder of Everest Properties. He served as the U.S. Ambassador to Croatia from January 2018 through January 2021. In 1991, Mr. Kohorst co-founded KH Financial, Inc. (the predecessor to Everest), which engaged in the acquisition of general partner interests, real estate companies and related assets. Everest is a privately-held, diversified real estate investment firm. Everest specializes in the acquisition, recapitalization and asset management of real estate, with significant experience investing in and managing REIT, TIC, LLC and LP real estate investment entities. Everest seeks to acquire and finance assets that Everest believes have a disproportionately high potential investment return compared to the investment risk. Everest invests its own capital alongside its institutional and individual partners, and often owns a substantial majority of the equity of projects within its portfolio.

 

From 1984 through 1990 he was the President of the Private Placement Group for Public Storage, Inc., a national U.S. real estate syndicator. Mr. Kohorst holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Dayton. Mr. Kohorst now acts as an advisor to Everest.
