Scott Richardson brings experience in the financial services and life insurance industries that spans four decades. After being a successful executive and consultant for one of the largest firms in his industry, he started IZALE in order to return to a client-centered experience.
Scott has had extensive contact with bank regulatory agencies, and was involved in the development of customized benefit plans and BOLI placements for hundreds of banks throughout the country. This unique background provides Scott with considerable expertise in the legal aspects of compensation, nonqualified benefits, and both bank-owned life insurance (BOLI) and corporate-owned life insurance (COLI) plan design.
Scott has addressed numerous banking groups on the topics of executive compensation, non-qualified benefits and BOLI. In addition, he has been quoted in various banking trade publications including North Western Financial Review, Illinois Banker, Hoosier Banker and Wisconsin Community Banking News regarding the impact of Financial Institutions Letter 127-04. He has also authored articles for Bank Director and the Credit Union Journal.
Scott has a law degree from William Mitchell College of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota. He is a member of the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting (AALU) and is past president of the Twin Cities Society of Financial Services Professionals.

Ken Smith brings experience assisting his clients in the life insurance industry that spans the last four decades. He and his team help our clients transfer and create wealth, preserve and transfer businesses, provide estate and other needed tax liquidity, or benefit their favorite charities using life insurance products. They work with high net worth individuals, high income earners, family offices and other specialist in the financial services industry. Their expertise is to help clients analyze existing coverage’s to determine whether those contracts are performing as originally illustrated and will continue to provide the desired coverage in future years. They analyze whether the ownership and beneficiary structures are correct and current and review the financial strength of the issuing companies. They also help clients with a need for new insurance determine their risk class and select the appropriate products and companies for their life insurance needs.
Ken and his team remain fiercely independent and are not tied to any single carrier. Their focus begins with the identification of suitable strategies and products and continues throughout the implementation process, they are further dedicated to the ongoing reporting and service required by today’s complex life insurance products. He also has a sub-specialty in assisting clients with unneeded or unwanted life insurance coverage in searching the secondary market to find buyers that will often pay well above the cash surrender value for permanent contracts, or more than the total cost of old term life insurance contracts.
Ken has a BSBA in Finance from the University of Arkansas and has earned designations as a Charter Life Underwriter (CLU) and Charter Financial Consultant (ChFC) from the American College of Financial Services.
In addition to his specialty of working with individuals and families Ken works with the team at IZALE who specialize in working with Corporate, Banking and Credit Union clients in managing and acquiring Corporate and Bank Owned Life Insurance.
Ken and his wife Sarah are also volunteer court appointed special advocates for children with Dallas CASA.
