Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Mezrah Consulting, mapbenefits®, BOLI Rescue®
Todd Mezrah is the Chief Executive Officer of Mezrah Consulting, an executive benefits and compensation consulting firm based in Tampa, Florida. Todd is responsible for the firm’s vision, growth, and strategic and technology initiatives. Through Mezrah Consulting’s long-term growth and success, the firm has developed a national consulting practice for enterprise, privately held, and publicly traded companies, including financial institutions. Under Todd’s direction, the company has developed a Bank Practice servicing a variety of financial institutions in creating and evaluating BOLI portfolios, sharing new ideas for capturing yield and providing executive benefits consulting and expertise. In 2018, he cofounded a company called BOLI Rescue that focuses on enhancing legacy BOLI portfolios by creating liquidity and improving yields without immediate tax costs or penalties.
Todd Mezrah is a thought leader whose focus, experience and expertise ensure competent consulting on issues specific to plan design, plan funding, compliance, proxy disclosure, accounting, plan benefit security, plan implementation and administration of executive benefit programs including the utilization of a variety of funding and financing vehicles. The primary focus of his consulting practice is to create effective tools for companies to attract and retain talent without adverse financial impact.
Todd initially pursued a career in Los Angeles with the Management Compensation Group as a financial analyst and with Executive Compensation Solutions as a Senior Consultant. He has authored several articles on executive compensation in various publications and, as a frequent speaker, has presented lectures on tax, legal, and accounting implications of executive compensation and benefit plans to a number of trade and professional organizations.
In 1993, Todd formed Mezrah Consulting, a member firm of Lion Street, Inc., a leading national financial services company owned by fiercely independent financial advisors. Based in Austin, Texas, Lion Street comprises an elite network of firms that specialize in financial solutions for high-net-worth individuals, family offices, business owners and corporate clients. Lion Street firms gain favored access to insurance carriers and financial institutions, and the products and services they offer, enhancing their ability to meet the complex planning requirements of their clients. Todd currently serves on the Lion Street Advisory Board.
Todd was also the co-founder and CEO of Drawloop Technologies, a technology company that was the first to develop an enterprise cloud-based solution for automating document deliverables. Many Fortune 500 companies use this technology today. In 2015, Drawloop became part of Nintex, the largest cloud-based workflow company in the world. Nintex Drawloop is currently owned by the Private Equity firm Thoma Bravo.
In 2019, Todd created another SaaS technology company focused on the nonqualified plans administration space with the creation of mapbenefits. mapbenefits is built on the Salesforce.com infrastructure and is the only cloud-based enterprise solution for deferred compensation plan administration and is 409A compliant.
Todd is also cofounder of AZ Capital Partners, a private investment company, on the Executive Board of iControl, a SaaS-based solution in the CPG space, and on the Advisory Board of IP Capital Partners, a private equity real estate firm.
Todd Mezrah is a graduate of the University of Alabama where he obtained a B.A. in Corporate Finance and Investment Management. He later earned his MBA with an emphasis on employee benefits from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia.
His involvement in the community is best exemplified by his participation in The Jewish Federation, Jewish National Fund, Florida Holocaust Museum, Make a Wish, American Heart Association, and the Glazer Children’s Museum by way of the Todd and Shari Mezrah Charitable Fund. His industry involvement is best exemplified by his role and participation in AALU’s nonqualified plans committee in Washington, D.C.
Chief Financial Officer
Angela Spurlin is the Chief Financial Officer of Mezrah Consulting. She oversees the financial well-being of the company and assists in developing organizational strategies by using financial and accounting information and analysis to provide strategic thinking and direction. She assists in developing financial operational strategies and initiatives by identifying key metrics and evaluating trends to resolve problems and implement positive changes.
Prior to joining Mezrah Consulting, she was the Controller of a Forbes 400 family office that owns and operates one of the largest privately held companies in the world. Angela was responsible for all financial aspects of the firm, including investment return analysis, reporting, operations of the firm and financial operations of certain private company investments. Angela has served many different roles including Vice President of Finance of a leading provider of legal support services nationwide and Vice President, Controller of a global private equity firm that served as the general partner in 12 private equity funds worldwide with $1.2 billion under management. Angela brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the accounting and finance area to Mezrah Consulting.
Angela holds a Master of Accountancy and Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Florida where she also graduated with honors. She is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the Florida Institute of CPAs and American Institute of CPAs. Angela was very involved in Delta Gamma Sorority during college and as an alumnus and served in various officer positions. She also is a contributor and supporter of Free Spirit Equestrian Center & Rescue, Inc., Suncoast Kingfish Classic, Humane Society of Tampa Bay, and Christ The King Catholic School.
Vice President of Operations
Katie Censoplano is the Vice President of Operations of Mezrah Consulting. She is responsible for all aspects of client interactions, from the implementation of new executive benefit plans to servicing of existing client relationships. Katie leads our Implementation, Policy Service, Account Management, and Software Development teams. As the leader of the Implementation Team, she works closely with our clients to design and implement executive benefit plans that will attract and retain top talent. Our Account Management Team handles servicing our current clients in the daily administration of all executive benefit plans, including managing client relationships. Katie assists in developing, implementing, and managing key strategies and initiatives to improve operational efficiencies and scalability of the firm. Additionally, Katie is responsible for the firm’s SEC and FINRA compliance.
Katie obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of South Florida. Prior to joining Mezrah Consulting, Katie worked for a financial services company as an Operations Manager. Katie has over 20 years of client service management experience in the financial industry.
